How to create a gantt chart with our MS Project....

Hello Again!

I recently received an e-mail about how to create a gantt chart without MS Project that I thought I would share since this may be an issue for many of my readers.

"I do not have MS project. I am finishing a PM course ...., as as part of the assignment, I have to prepare a Gantt Chart. Do you have any ideas on any trail software or freeware I can use to do this.?

Thanks for your help.

Regards"

My response was the following:

How about Excel?

Here is a tutorial that walks you through how to create a Gantt chart in Excel. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel/HA010346051033.aspx

You could also create a word document and insert a table to create a Gantt chart.

If your Gantt chart is for display purposes only then excel or word will work. If you are on a real project you would want to use MS project.

Please let me know what you choose.

Regards"

His reply:

I hope you find this helpful as well. Please e-mail any questions you have and I will do my best to assist you.

Regards,
Dora
